Frequently Asked Questions
Below you can find a list of frequently asked questions concerning broken fridges. If you can’t find your answer here, just give us a call and we’ll try to help.
Why is my fridge overheating?
A fridge that overheats is a real problem. It can ruin your food, causing milk and meat to go off really quickly. If this happens to you, a reasonable explanation could be that the thermostat is faulty. Thermostats in fridges work in the same way as those that are found in the house. They control the temperature in the fridge, keeping it cool. So, if it’s faulty it can cause things to heat up. Our warehouse is stocked with lots of thermostats for many different brands and models of fridges, so if this happens to you then let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
Why does my fridge have condensation around the door?
This is quite a common problem. Just behind the door opening there is a pipe of hot gas called the anti-condensate line. Sometimes in cold houses condensation forms, therefore a solution would be to increase the temperature in your kitchen. Try that, and if it continues please give us a call.
Why is my fridge noisy?
A noisy fridge can be because of a faulty fan motor, thermostat or compressor and sometimes is caused by blocked or obstructed air channels. These problems are easy enough for our engineers to sort out, so give us a call and we’ll see what we can do.
If you have more questions such as “why is my fridge not cooling” or “why isn’t my fridge working”, then please call so that we can arrange a visit from an engineer. Please do not try to fix the problems yourself, as this can be dangerous and could cause even more damage to your fridge.
