Frequently Asked Questions
Before giving us a call why not try to figure out what might be the problem so that you can give our engineers an idea. These are some frequently asked questions regarding freezer problems.
Why is my freezer overheating?
There could be several reasons why your freezer is over heating but the most common causes are related to the electronic or electro-mechanical systems, i.e. the thermostat. You shouldn’t attempt to fix these yourself so get in touch with us to organise a time for our engineers to visit. We have many freezer thermostats in stock so there’s a good chance that we can fix the problem on our first visit.
Why doesn’t my freezer freeze?
This problem can also be attributed to the thermostat but there is a chance that there might be a failure with the internal electronics such as a faulty compressor PTC or relay. Additionally, blockages in the gas pipework lead to similar effects.
Why is my freezer leaking water?
If your freezer is leaking water the obvious reason would be that it is not freezing properly. This, again, can be linked to thermostat issues. However there are other possibilities that shouldn’t be ignored. For example the defrost tray on compressor is damaged or overfilled.
We hope that this has given you a little insight into common freezer problems. Understanding what might be the cause will help us greatly before you call. Please remember that it is not a good idea to try and mix the problem yourself. By doing so might inadvertently cause more damage. Furthermore, in some cases it can be quite dangerous. Play it safe and call one of our engineers today on 0207 183 6944, or alternatively you could use our easy and quick online booking form.
